David McCall Foundation Put Smiles on Young Riders

The Fun day in Craigavon sponsored by the David Mc Call Cycling Foundation, and organised by the Cycling Ulster Youth Commission saw twenty young lads and girls showing up at the Craigavon Watersports Centre today. It was titled as a Fun Day and fun we had....Kenny Dunlop (Lakeland) took charge as master of ceremony and organiser with Ulster's Youth Commission Chair, Micheal McKenna (Emyvale) as assistant.

The day started with an introduction to the format of the day. After this the participants split in two groups, one to the banana boat and the other to the orienteering course. Lunch followed and special guest Hamilton Topping of the David McCall Foundation came along to speak to the riders. Mickey McKenna thanked the Foundation for the work they were doing to support grass roots development in Ulster and in particular for their support of Youth. The groups then swapped and the fun began again.

The young people behaved impeccably and they were excellent ambassadors not only for their family and clubs but also Cycling Ulster. David McCall would have been delighted to have seen so many of them out enjoying themselves today.

Cycling Ulster would also like to thank the Foundation for the sterling work they are doing. They have supported the development of Youth and Women's cycling in Ulster as well as some of our young teams. This additional support allows us to target more events and provide more professional back-up for each project.
